Midtown Brass Quintet

Simply put, the Midtown Brass Quintet is a professional chamber ensemble featuring the traditional instrumentation of two trumpets (Phil Ehrmann and Paul Poovey), French horn (Jay Hanselman), trombone (Hollie Lawing), and Tuba (Bill Pritchard). All of us have music performance degrees and decades of collective experience as professional teachers and players. We rehearse regularly at Rivercliff Lutheran Church in Sandy Springs, GA. Rehearsals are open to the public, and visitors are always welcome to come hear what we’re all about. Just contact Hollie for times, dates, and other details.

Equally at ease in a range of musical settings from classical, jazz, commercial, to popular music, we are able to work effectively in a number of different situations including:

• Corporate events
• Parties
• Wedding ceremonies
• Receptions
• Church services
• Restaurants

In addition, we schedule 1-2 recitals each year to feature the most demanding concert music available, and we also collaborate with several composers in the interest of contributing new music to the ever-expanding genre of brass quintet music.

Finally, we are passionate about promoting music education, offering a variety of services for music directors and students alike, including master classes, clinics, musical coaching, and individual private instruction.
